INTERNATIONAL: England face their fierce rivals Hungary at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night in a world cup qualifier. The last time the teams met, Hungary fans hurled racist abuse at two of England’s black players. Hungary have been fined and must play their next two home games behind doors, but there will be fans at Wembley and the atmosphere will no doubt be tense.

Picking players for such a tricky fixture is never an easy job. England thumped Hungary 4-nil at their last meeting, but it’s the racial tension in the air that’s making things a little more complicated, although England player, Mason Mount, says the incident in Budapest certainly brought the team together:

“Yeah, definitely, it's probably up there as one of the best atmospheres I've been involved in to be in an away game and everyone against us and as a team you can thrive of that and I think the way we played and I think the way we played and obviously the result we got in the end showed the confidence that we had in ourselves, the togetherness we had throughout the game. It was difficult, the first 45 minutes we didn't score, we found it difficult to create chances. Second-half we get the goal and then we get three or four after that. But that experience we had out there definitely brought us together and made us stronger as a team."

England Manager Gareth Southgate says team selection is never easy, no matter the circumstances:

"Well, I have a headache and I commit a crime every time I pick a team. It's very difficult every time you have to name your squad because we have so many good players and such good strong competition or places. Yeah, of course, there's lots of players how did their own confidence and reputations the world of good the other day and that's pleasing to see."

England are currently top of Group I and look certain to qualify for Qatar 2022.
